Go Denim! Ely’s (21st) Denim Birthday Party

Denim Blue & White Birthday Party with a DIY tissue paper bunting :)

After two months or so of planning, my 21st birthday party has finally come and gone!

With much help from K, my cousin Athalie and my family (with the last minute decor, ha)… Thank God the party was a success. Everyone enjoyed themselves, I do believe, and it went according to how I’d planned — more or less.

It’s never going to be perfect because of the perfectionist that I am (yikes), but even then.

Yayyers, I’m twenty-one at last!

Go denim!

No-Bake Fruit & Nut Nutella Bars

Here’s another addition to the no-bake list, if you recall my other no-bake dessert. In fact, I should also start making another list for the uses of Nutella in baking. There are just too many.

Everybody loves Nutella. You can’t go wrong with that.

Today, I added Nutella into one of my favourite snacks: granola bars. And it’s made it my new favourite snack.

I know I promised some time back to post my homemade granola recipe, but that’ll still have to wait. (Good things are worth the wait.) For now, let’s be content with Nutella. We can always count on Nutella like a best friend — like one of life’s simple joys.

Stay-Home Saturday Dinners

I haven’t been able to post as much as I’d like, and it truly bothers me 😦

So tonight, despite yet another long tiring day at work, I decided to expend this little extra bit of energy to get a post up — albeit probably a shorter one.

My rants on work and the experience there won’t take center stage today; rather, I’ll share about Saturday home(cooked) dinners I look forward to almost every week 🙂

Food is just such an essential part of life (yea, this could be an understatement on its own!) that I can’t help but feel all fired up just thinking and talking about it!

Health Steps: Rolled Oats

Rolled oats with honey, dried cranberries and fresh banana.

Rolled oats are considered an excellent choice when it comes to a healthy diet. They make for good breakfast food, and can also be eaten as a snack at midday.

As a good source of dietary fibre, iron and thiamine, it is claimed that these oats can help reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in the bloodstream. And for those looking to shed some pounds, it’s amazing that rolled oats have been found to be a “natural weight-loss food” because they fill you up and help keep you on your diet plan.

Today I’m sharing a simple way to prepare and enjoy your rolled oats 🙂

Snack Packs, Grab Bags!

One snack pack for each day!

I haven’t been posting for a couple of days now, and that’s because I’ve been buried under the enormous pile of work I’ve to cover before my semester final exams which are just in two days! This evening, though, I’ve the luxury of spending a little time here as earlier today I spent 10 hours at Starbucks cramming my mind. It’s safe to say it’s bamboozled right now, with all the abstract concepts I’ve had to plough through! 😦

Relating to school and studying, today I’m sharing about something I’ve found particularly useful. And I am almost certain this could work well too even for the non-schooling (i.e. those of you older ones, ha ha).

Do you find yourself getting hungry in the middle of the day, despite having had lunch and wondering just where you can get your tummy filled? Yet, you don’t want to be snacking too much because you’re afraid off putting on the pounds? What do you do then?

Well, I’ve been snacking a lot, but on fruits! I call them snack packs. Excellent source of vitamins, refreshing, and just what you need to satisfy those hunger pangs — with all natural goodness, at that! What’s not to love? 🙂

Fruity love!

Now why I call them grab bags is this: they’re splendid for those grab-and-go mornings.
