When I was little, my parents would buy Saint Cinnamon rolls (Cinnabon-equivalent) for the family and it was a much-loved treat. That was until somewhere along life’s journey when they decided to leave Singapore for good — in other words also forcing our love affair to end.
But as with every relationship, if it’s worth fighting for, you never give up.
And so as I began my journey four months ago, sourcing for that same taste so cinn-fully delicious, I think it’s safe to say: I’ve finally found what I’ve been looking for.
After two months or so of planning, my 21st birthday party has finally come and gone!
With much help from K, my cousin Athalie and my family (with the last minute decor, ha)… Thank God the party was a success. Everyone enjoyed themselves, I do believe, and it went according to how I’d planned — more or less.
It’s never going to be perfect because of the perfectionist that I am (yikes), but even then.
Here are my Oreo Cookie Pops, making their debut at my girlfriend Clarissa’s 21st birthday celebration earlier this afternoon!
After all the hard work yesterday and some assistance from K, I’m quite pleased with how they turned out. Also that, as a whole, the dessert was rather well-received at the party. I couldn’t be more satisfied.
It’s amazing how they fit right into her theme of “madly eclectic”; the girls especially were attracted by its cute exterior and someone even commented she felt like a little girl again munching on a lolly 🙂
Oh, and did I mention it was a really sweet party?
Everyone deserves a second chance. Me included, on this dessert.
I tried it once before but failed — and that failure was also what pushed me to give up on my oven at home for my grandmother’s awesome one as well. And, as you can see, something good always comes out of a bad situation.
Thank the Lord, I finally know why this is called Lemon Delicious.
It’s taken me three days to get this post up, but certainly way less than that to finish these cookies. Soon, they’re going to become a staple in my everyday diet ha ha. Gosh, they are so addictive!
Who doesn’t love banana, PB and choc chips? And now, all together!? Plus my favourite wholemeal!!! (I am almost hyperventilating here.)
Sure, too many cookies can be bad for you, and I did somewhat promise healthy food on this blog, but I couldn’t help myself with this one.
Besides, we all need a balanced diet, don’t we? And by “balanced”, surely I mean a mixture of healthy recipes and the occasional indulgences. Comfort food makes for a happy tummy — and ultimately a happy soul. These cookies are so good, you’d be chomping them down guilt-free 🙂
Eggs are good for you. No matter these are presumably from the Devil. Let me repeat myself: eggs are good for you.
On an interesting side note, a quick search on Google (Wikipedia, more like) will tell you that the name originated somewhere in the 18th or 19th century, and is used to refer to “spicy or zesty food”. Not sure if today’s featured dish is necessarily spicy, but you can be sure I added just enough zest to it!
Definitely a healthier option than your usual Deviled Eggs, I’ve used only half the amount of egg yolks and replaced it with tons of avocado instead — ah, that’s easy to guess, considering the name I gave this dish. But, for the special ingredient that gives this version an “Ely twist”, you’ll have to read on.
